Taurus
Taurus is the second astrological sign in the zodiac. It spans the 30–60th degree of the zodiac. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this sign from approximately April 20 to May 20 each year. Individuals born during these dates, depending on which system of astrology they subscribe to, may be called Taureans.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Taurus is an earth sign, and it is one of the four fixed signs. The symbol of the bull represents Taurus, which is associated with traits such as reliability, patience, practicality, and a strong connection to the material world. Taureans are often seen as stable and grounded individuals who value security and comfort.
Element and Quality[edit | edit source]
Taurus is ruled by the element of Earth, which is associated with practicality, stability, and a focus on the physical world. As a fixed sign, Taurus is known for its determination and persistence. Fixed signs are often seen as reliable and consistent, but they can also be resistant to change.
Ruling Planet[edit | edit source]
The ruling planet of Taurus is Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and money. Venus endows Taureans with a love for the finer things in life, including art, music, and luxury. This influence also makes them appreciate beauty in all its forms and seek harmony in their surroundings.
Mythology[edit | edit source]
In Greek mythology, Taurus is associated with the story of Zeus and Europa. Zeus transformed himself into a beautiful white bull to seduce Europa, a Phoenician princess. When Europa climbed onto the bull's back, Zeus swam across the sea to the island of Crete, where he revealed his true identity.
Astrology[edit | edit source]
In astrology, Taurus is considered a sign of stability and endurance. People born under this sign are thought to be dependable, patient, and practical. They are often seen as loyal friends and partners, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Compatibility[edit | edit source]
Taurus is traditionally considered most compatible with Virgo and Capricorn, as these signs share the earth element, which fosters mutual understanding and shared values. Taurus is also often compatible with Cancer and Pisces, as these water signs can complement Taurus's grounded nature.
