The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Directed by Marc Webb, the film is a reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise and stars Andrew Garfield as the titular character, alongside Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film tells the story of Peter Parker, a high school student who develops spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically altered spider and sets out to save New York City from the villainous Lizard.
