Tipton, IA
Tipton is a city located in the state of Iowa, United States. It is the county seat of Cedar County, and as of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 3,221. Tipton is known for its small-town charm, rich history, and strong sense of community.

- Tipton was platted in 1840 and named for General John Tipton, a personal friend of the founder. The city was incorporated in 1857. Tipton quickly became a bustling hub of activity, serving as a stop on the stagecoach route between Davenport and Iowa City.

- Tipton is located at 41°46′N 91°8′W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.16 square miles, all of it land.
