Tom Clancy
Thomas Leo Clancy Jr. (April 12, 1947 – October 1, 2013) was an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military science storylines set during and after the Cold War. Clancy's books were known for their attention to detail and realism, which made them popular among readers interested in military and intelligence operations.

Tom Clancy was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and he attended Loyola University Maryland, where he graduated with a degree in English literature. After college, he worked as an insurance broker before becoming a full-time writer.

Clancy's first novel, The Hunt for Red October, was published in 1984 and was a major success, leading to a series of bestsellers. His works often featured the character Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst who rises to become President of the United States.
