Toms River
Toms River is a township located in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. It is the county seat of Ocean County and is known for its suburban setting and its proximity to the Jersey Shore.

Toms River was first established in the 18th century and was originally known as the Township of Dover until voters changed the name to Toms River Township in November 2006. The township has a rich history, with many historical sites such as the Toms River Seaport Society and Maritime Museum and the Ocean County Historical Society.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Toms River is located along the Atlantic Ocean, with the Toms River flowing through the township. It is bordered by several other townships, including Brick Township, Jackson Township, and Lakewood Township. The township is characterized by its suburban landscape, with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the township had a total population of 91,239. The racial makeup of the township was predominantly White, with a significant number of Hispanic and Asian residents.
