Tony Bisignano

Tony Bisignano is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He has served in the Iowa Senate representing the 17th district since 2015. Prior to his current tenure, Bisignano served in the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate during the 1980s and 1990s.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Tony Bisignano was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Dowling Catholic High School and later graduated from Grand View University with a degree in Political Science.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Bisignano began his political career in the Iowa House of Representatives, where he served from 1983 to 1993. He then moved to the Iowa Senate, serving from 1993 to 1997. After a hiatus from the legislature, he was re-elected to the Iowa Senate in 2014, representing the 17th district.

During his time in the legislature, Bisignano has been known for his work on labor issues, education, and healthcare. He has served on various committees, including the Labor and Business Relations Committee, the Education Committee, and the Health and Human Services Committee.

Throughout his career, Bisignano has been an advocate for workers' rights, public education, and healthcare reform.
