Tourism is the activity by travelers who travel to and stay in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited. Tourism is a major source of income for many countries and affects the economy of both the source and host countries.

Tourism has significant impacts on the economy of a region or country. This can have both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, it can create jobs and boost the economy. On the negative side, it can lead to overdevelopment, environmental degradation, and cultural exploitation.

Tourism can have a range of impacts on the environment. These can be both positive and negative. Positive impacts include conservation and preservation of natural areas, while negative impacts can include degradation and destruction of natural areas, pollution, and disturbance of wildlife.
