Tredyffrin Township is a township located in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The township was founded in 1707 and has a rich history that dates back to the early days of Pennsylvania's settlement.

Tredyffrin Township was originally settled by Welsh Quakers in the late 17th century. The name "Tredyffrin" is derived from the Welsh "Tref-y-dyfryn," meaning "town in the valley." The township played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War, particularly during the Valley Forge encampment of 1777-1778.

Tredyffrin Township covers an area of approximately 19.9 square miles, with 19.8 square miles of land and 0.1 square miles of water. The township is characterized by its rolling hills and numerous streams, including the Valley Creek.
