Trentino

Trentino is an autonomous province located in the northern part of Italy, specifically in the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. It is one of the two provinces that make up the region, the other being South Tyrol. The province is officially known as the Autonomous Province of Trento.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Trentino is situated in the southern part of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. It shares its northern border with South Tyrol, its western border with Lombardy, its eastern border with Veneto, and its southern border with Veneto and Lombardy. The province covers an area of approximately 6,207 square kilometers.

The landscape of Trentino is predominantly mountainous, as it is part of the Alps. The highest peak in the province is the Ortler, which stands at 3,905 meters above sea level. The province is also home to part of the Dolomites mountain range, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
