Tuesdays with Morrie

Tuesdays with Morrie is a 1999 American television film adaptation of Mitch Albom's memoir of the same name. The film was directed by Mick Jackson and stars Jack Lemmon as Morrie Schwartz and Hank Azaria as Mitch Albom.

The film follows the true story of Mitch Albom, a successful sports journalist, and his former Brandeis University sociology professor, Morrie Schwartz. After learning that Morrie has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Mitch reconnects with his old mentor. The two begin to meet every Tuesday, discussing various topics about life, love, work, and death. These meetings profoundly impact Mitch, leading him to reevaluate his life and priorities.

The film was produced by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions and aired on ABC on December 5, 1999. The screenplay was written by Thomas Rickman, and the film's music was composed by Marco Beltrami.

Tuesdays with Morrie received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Jack Lemmon's performance as Morrie Schwartz was particularly praised, earning him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. The film also won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Made for Television Movie.
