Twelve is a natural number following eleven and preceding thirteen. The number twelve holds significance in various fields such as mathematics, religion, and culture.

In mathematics, twelve is a superior highly composite number, a number with more divisors than any number scaled down from it. It is approximately the integer part of the 12th root of 2. It is a Harshad number and a subfactorial number.

In religion, the number twelve holds a significant place. In Christianity, there are twelve apostles of Jesus. In Judaism, there are twelve tribes of Israel. In Islam, there are twelve Imams in Shia Islam.

In culture, there are twelve months in a year in the Gregorian calendar. There are also twelve signs in the Zodiac. In music, there are twelve notes in the chromatic scale.
