URF

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

URF (Ultra Rapid Fire) is a game mode in League of Legends, a popular MOBA game developed by Riot Games. URF was first introduced as an April Fool's Day event in 2014, and has since become a recurring event due to its popularity among players.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

In URF, players are given 80% cooldown reduction on all abilities, items, and summoner spells, allowing them to use these much more frequently than in standard gameplay. This leads to fast-paced, chaotic matches where players can constantly use their abilities to attack opponents or aid allies. The game mode also features other changes such as increased movement speed, attack speed, and critical strike damage.

Reception[edit | edit source]

URF has been well-received by the League of Legends community for its fun, fast-paced gameplay. It has been praised for providing a break from the more strategic, slower-paced standard game modes, and for allowing players to experiment with different champions and strategies.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Due to its popularity, URF has had a significant impact on League of Legends. It has inspired other game modes, such as ARURF, where players are randomly assigned a champion to play, and Nemesis Draft, where players choose the champions for the opposing team. URF has also influenced changes in the main game, with some of the mechanics introduced in the mode being incorporated into standard gameplay.
