USS Arkansas

USS Arkansas is the name of several ships in the United States Navy. The name is derived from the U.S. state of Arkansas.

USS Arkansas (BM-7)[edit | edit source]

The first USS Arkansas (BM-7) was a monitor, a type of ironclad warship, that was launched in 1900 and decommissioned in 1946. She served in the Spanish-American War, the World War I, and the World War II.

USS Arkansas (BB-33)[edit | edit source]

The second USS Arkansas (BB-33) was a Wyoming-class battleship that was launched in 1911 and decommissioned in 1946. She served in both World Wars and was present at the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the D-Day invasion.

USS Arkansas (CGN-41)[edit | edit source]

The third USS Arkansas (CGN-41) was a Virginia-class cruiser that was launched in 1980 and decommissioned in 1998. She served in the Persian Gulf War.
