The United Breweries Group or UB Group is a multinational conglomerate company headquartered in UB City, Bangalore, India. The company has diverse business interests including beverages, aviation, electricals and chemicals.

The UB Group was founded by Thomas Leishman in 1857. The group's initial business was in the beer industry, which expanded over the years to include other alcoholic beverages. Today, the group's flagship beer brand, Kingfisher, is recognized globally.

Beverages[edit | edit source]
The UB Group's beverage division is its largest and most profitable division. The group's flagship brand, Kingfisher, is one of the most recognized beer brands globally. Other popular brands under the UB Group include Kalyani Black Label, London Pilsner, and Zingaro.

The UB Group ventured into the aviation industry with the launch of Kingfisher Airlines in 2005. However, the airline ceased operations in 2012 due to financial difficulties.

The UB Group's electrical division, Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers, manufactures a wide range of electrical products including batteries, inverters, and generators.

The UB Group has been involved in several controversies, most notably the financial troubles and subsequent grounding of Kingfisher Airlines. The group's chairman, Vijay Mallya, has also been involved in several legal issues.
