United Supermarkets is a North American supermarket grocery store chain. With headquarters in Lubbock, Texas, its stores are located in over 30 markets across north and west Texas. The company operates under five distinct formats including United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos, Albertsons Market, and United Express.

History[edit | edit source]

United Supermarkets was founded in 1916 by H.D. Snell in Sayre, Oklahoma. The company remained family-owned until 2013 when it was acquired by Albertsons. Today, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Albertsons Companies.

In addition to traditional grocery store services, United Supermarkets also offers several unique services. These include catering, pharmacy, floral, and fuel. The company also operates several in-store restaurants under the Market Street banner.

United Supermarkets is heavily involved in the communities it serves. The company supports numerous local charities and organizations, and it also operates a charitable foundation, the United Supermarkets Charitable Foundation, which provides funding for local non-profit organizations.
