The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is a public university located in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was formed on 1 January 2004 after the merger of the University of Natal and the University of Durban-Westville.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal was established in 2004 through the amalgamation of two major institutions: the University of Natal, which was founded in 1910, and the University of Durban-Westville, which was established in the 1960s. This merger was part of a nationwide restructuring of higher education in South Africa aimed at improving access and quality.

UKZN operates across five campuses:
- Howard College Campus: Located in Durban, this campus is known for its vibrant student life and diverse academic offerings.
