The University of Northampton is a public university based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. It was formed in 2005 by the amalgamation of several training colleges and gained full university status in 2005. The University of Northampton is known for its strong focus on social enterprise and making a positive social impact, which is reflected in its mission to transform lives and inspire change.

The origins of the University of Northampton can be traced back to the 19th century with the establishment of the Northampton Technical College in 1924. Over the decades, the institution evolved through various stages, incorporating different colleges and expanding its range of courses. In 1999, it became known as University College Northampton before achieving full university status in 2005, becoming the University of Northampton.
