University of Oklahoma (OU) is a public university located in Norman, Oklahoma, United States. Established in 1890, it is the flagship institution of the University of Oklahoma System. The university is known for its strong programs in engineering, law, geology, energy, aerospace, and meteorology. OU is also home to the National Weather Center, which houses state-of-the-art weather research and operations.
