User

A User is an individual or entity that utilizes a computer system, software, or hardware. Users can be categorized into several types based on their interaction with the system, including end-users, superusers, and system users.

Types of Users[edit | edit source]

End-User[edit | edit source]

An End-user is the individual who uses a product or service after it has been fully developed and marketed. This is the final user in the chain of production and distribution. The end-user's feedback is often crucial in the development and improvement of the product or service.

Superuser[edit | edit source]

A Superuser or root user is a special user account used for system administration. Depending on the operating system (OS), the actual name of this account might be root, administrator, admin or supervisor. In some cases, the actual name of the account is not the determining factor; on Unix-like systems, for example, the user with a user identifier (UID) of zero is the superuser, regardless of the name of that account.

System User[edit | edit source]

A System User is a user profile that is used by the system to perform certain tasks. These profiles often have permissions and access rights that are different from those of a regular user.

User Interface[edit | edit source]

The User Interface (UI) is the space where interactions between humans and machines occur. The goal of this interaction is to allow effective operation and control of the machine from the human end, while the machine simultaneously feeds back information that aids the operators' decision-making process.

User Experience[edit | edit source]

User Experience (UX) is a person's emotions and attitudes about using a particular product, system or service. It includes the practical, experiential, affective, meaningful and valuable aspects of human-computer interaction and product ownership.
