Valérian and Laureline is a French science fiction comic book series, created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. The series was first published in the magazine Pilote in 1967 and ran until 2010. It is considered one of the most influential works in the science fiction genre and has inspired numerous other works, including the Star Wars franchise.
