Vault (drink)
Vault (drink)[edit | edit source]
Vault is a sweetened carbonated beverage that was produced by The Coca-Cola Company from 2005 to 2011. It was marketed as a hybrid energy drink and soda, similar to PepsiCo's Mountain Dew. The drink was available in a variety of flavors, including Original, Red Blitz, and Citrus.
History[edit | edit source]
Vault was first introduced in 2005 as part of a test market in select areas. The Coca-Cola Company aimed to compete with PepsiCo's Mountain Dew, which had a strong hold on the citrus-flavored soda market. Vault was officially launched nationwide in the United States in 2006.
Marketing[edit | edit source]
The marketing campaign for Vault used the slogan "Drinks like a Soda, Kicks like an Energy Drink." This was to emphasize the drink's hybrid nature, combining the sweet, refreshing taste of a soda with the energy-boosting effects of an energy drink.
Discontinuation[edit | edit source]
In 2011, The Coca-Cola Company announced that they would be discontinuing Vault, along with several other underperforming brands. The decision was made in order to focus on the company's more profitable brands.
Flavors[edit | edit source]
Vault was available in three flavors: Original, Red Blitz, and Citrus. The Original flavor was a citrus blend, similar to Mountain Dew. Red Blitz was a cherry-flavored version of the drink, and Citrus was a lemon-lime flavor.
