Veronaea
Veronaea is a genus of fungi in the family Herpotrichiellaceae. The genus contains 4 species.

The genus Veronaea was first described by botanist Piero Botto in 1961. The genus is characterized by its dark, pigmented hyphae and its production of conidia in chains. The conidia are typically dark and smooth-walled.

Pathogenicity[edit | edit source]
Some species of Veronaea are known to cause phaeohyphomycosis, a group of infections caused by dematiaceous (darkly pigmented) fungi. These infections can affect both humans and animals.
