Verrucomicrobiota is a phylum of bacteria that is characterized by its unique cellular morphology and ecological diversity. They are known for their distinctive wart-like cellular projections, which is reflected in the name "Verrucomicrobiota," derived from the Latin "verruca" meaning "wart."
