Power's career in the music industry began in 1982 when he opened the Mean Fiddler, a music venue in Harlesden, North West London. The venue quickly gained popularity, hosting performances by notable artists and bands from around the world.

In 1986, Power expanded his business by acquiring the Reading Festival, one of the UK's most prominent music festivals. Under Power's leadership, the festival grew in size and popularity, attracting top international acts and thousands of music fans each year.

Power's Mean Fiddler Group went on to acquire and manage other popular music venues and festivals, including the Jazz Café, the Forum, and the Phoenix Festival. The group also managed the UK operations of international festivals such as Glastonbury and Homelands.

In 2005, Power sold the Mean Fiddler Group to Live Nation, a leading global entertainment company. He later founded the Vince Power Music Group, continuing his work in the music and entertainment industry.
