Vino Volo[edit | edit source]

Vino Volo is a boutique wine bar and shop based in the United States. The company was established in 2004 and has since grown to include locations in various airports across the country. Vino Volo, which translates to "wine flight" in Italian, offers customers the opportunity to taste and purchase wines from around the world.

History[edit | edit source]

Vino Volo was founded by Doug Tomlinson in 2004. The first location was opened in Washington Dulles International Airport. The concept was to provide a high-end wine experience for travelers, with a focus on wine education and the sale of premium wines. The company has since expanded to over 40 locations across North America.

Concept[edit | edit source]

The Vino Volo concept is centered around the idea of a "wine flight", which is a selection of wines, usually between three and six glasses, served together for the purpose of comparison and enjoyment. Customers can choose from a variety of flights, each with a different theme, or create their own. In addition to wine flights, Vino Volo also offers a menu of small plates designed to pair with their wines.

Locations[edit | edit source]

Vino Volo locations are primarily found in airports, allowing travelers to enjoy a high-quality wine experience while waiting for their flights. Some locations also include a retail shop where customers can purchase bottles of the wines they've tasted. As of 2021, there are Vino Volo locations in over 30 airports across the United States and Canada.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Vino Volo has been well received by both customers and critics. The company has won numerous awards for its innovative concept and high-quality offerings, including the Department of Aviation's Concessionaire of the Year Award and the Airport Revenue News' Best Airport Wine Bar.
