WJLA-TV
WJLA-TV is a television station in Washington, D.C., affiliated with the ABC network. It is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, a major telecommunications conglomerate in the United States. WJLA-TV broadcasts on digital channel 7 (VHF) and virtual channel 7.

WJLA-TV was originally founded as WTVW on October 3, 1947. It was one of the first television stations in the Washington, D.C. area. The station was initially owned by the Allbritton Communications Company, which was founded by Joe L. Allbritton. In 1977, the station changed its call sign to WJLA-TV to reflect the initials of its owner, Joe L. Allbritton.
In 2014, the station was acquired by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which is one of the largest television station operators in the United States. This acquisition was part of a larger deal in which Sinclair acquired several stations from Allbritton Communications.
Programming[edit | edit source]
WJLA-TV provides a variety of programming, including local news, weather, and sports. As an ABC affiliate, it also broadcasts national programming from the ABC network, including popular shows such as Good Morning America, World News Tonight, and Dancing with the Stars.
The station is known for its comprehensive local news coverage, which includes investigative journalism, political reporting, and community events. WJLA-TV has a team of experienced journalists and meteorologists who provide up-to-date information to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

WJLA-TV broadcasts in high definition on digital channel 7. The station also offers several digital subchannels that provide additional programming options, including Comet, Charge!, and TBD.
