- Wellford is a small city located in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. It is part of the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson Combined Statistical Area, a region of South Carolina known as "The Upstate". As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 2,378.

- Wellford was named after a man named Wellington, who was a superintendent of the Southern Railway. The city was incorporated on December 9, 1882.

- Wellford is located at 34°57′6″N 82°6′6″W (34.9518, -82.1017). The city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²), all land.
