West Midlands (county)
West Midlands is a metropolitan county in the United Kingdom, located in the region known as the West Midlands. It was created by the Local Government Act 1972 and came into existence on April 1, 1974. The county serves as a significant hub in the national transport and economic infrastructure, hosting a large population and a diverse industrial base. The West Midlands encompasses seven metropolitan boroughs: Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, and Wolverhampton.
