Whitley Neill Gin[edit | edit source]

Whitley Neill Gin is a handcrafted gin of exceptional quality inspired by the vivid beauty and mystery of Africa, and created by Johnny Neill, a direct descendant of a long line of distillers, whose heritage stretches back as far as the Baobab trees found in Africa.

History[edit | edit source]

Johnny Neill, the creator of Whitley Neill Gin, is a member of the Neill family, who have been involved in the distilling industry for over eight generations. The Neill family's distilling heritage dates back to the 18th century. Johnny Neill's inspiration for Whitley Neill Gin came from his family's sense of adventure and discovery, as well as their history in the distilling industry.

Production[edit | edit source]

Whitley Neill Gin is produced using a 100% grain spirit, which is steeped with botanicals prior to being distilled in a beautiful antique copper pot still called 'Constance' who is over 100 years old. Only the purest water is used and each of the nine botanicals are carefully selected to ensure that they are of the highest quality.

Botanicals[edit | edit source]

Whitley Neill Gin's botanicals include juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, angelica root, sweet orange, lemon, cape gooseberry and baobab fruit. The latter two are sourced from Africa, reflecting the brand's African heritage.

Tasting Notes[edit | edit source]

On the nose, Whitley Neill Gin is slightly citrusy with a rich juniper tone. The palate is velvety smooth with the flavours of juniper, citrus, pot pourri, exotic spices and a hint of peppery notes. The finish is long and slightly dry.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Whitley Neill Gin has won several awards for its taste and quality. These include the 2014 Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the 2015 Gold Medal at the Global Gin Masters, and the 2016 Gold Medal at the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition.

Serving Suggestions[edit | edit source]

Whitley Neill Gin is best served with tonic water, ice and a slice of citrus fruit. It also makes an excellent base for a variety of gin cocktails.
