William Verity Jr.
William Verity Jr. (January 26, 1917 – January 3, 2007) was an American businessman and politician who served as the United States Secretary of Commerce from 1987 to 1989 under President Ronald Reagan. Born in Middletown, Ohio, Verity had a significant impact on American trade policies and was known for his efforts to improve United States–Soviet Union relations during the late Cold War era.
