Yahoo! Inc. is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. These include a search engine, web portal, email, fantasy sports, and social media websites and apps.

Yahoo was founded in January 1994 by Jerry Yang and David Filo, who were Electrical Engineering graduate students at Stanford University. It was initially called "Jerry's Guide to the World Wide Web" before being renamed to Yahoo, which stands for "Yet Another Hierarchically Organized Oracle".

Yahoo provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Yahoo Search: Yahoo's web search engine which provides a feature to search the web for web pages, images, video, news, and other types of files.
  • Yahoo Mail: An email service launched in 1997, offering four different email plans: three for personal use and another for businesses.
  • Yahoo News: An automated news aggregator provided by Yahoo.
  • Yahoo Finance: Provides financial news, data and commentary including stock quotes, press releases, financial reports, and original content.
  • Yahoo Sports: Offers news, scores, statistics, and player information for all professional sports.
