Yanina Wickmayer (born 20 October 1989) is a Belgian professional tennis player. She has won five singles titles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as 11 singles and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. Her career-high singles ranking is world No. 12, achieved on 19 April 2010. Wickmayer reached the semifinals of the 2009 US Open.

Yanina Wickmayer was born in Lier, Belgium. She began playing tennis at a young age and turned professional in 2004.

Professional career[edit | edit source]

Wickmayer's breakthrough came in 2009 when she reached the semifinals of the US Open, where she was defeated by Caroline Wozniacki. This performance helped her break into the top 20 of the WTA rankings.

In 2010, Wickmayer achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 12. She has also had notable performances in other Grand Slam tournaments, including reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
