Yogurting
Yogurting was a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by Korean company NTIX Soft in 2005. The game was notable for its unique blend of role-playing elements with a distinctive anime art style, targeting a younger audience, particularly those with an interest in anime and manga. Despite its initial popularity in parts of Asia, Yogurting eventually ceased operations in 2010.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Yogurting featured a typical MMORPG gameplay structure, where players would create a character, explore various worlds, complete quests, and interact with other players. The game was set in a vibrant, school-themed universe, where players could attend classes that would help improve their character's skills and abilities. Combat in Yogurting was relatively simple, focusing more on strategy and character development than on fast-paced action.
Development and Release[edit | edit source]
Developed by NTIX Soft, Yogurting was first released in South Korea in 2005, with subsequent releases in Japan and Thailand. The game was initially well-received due to its appealing graphics, engaging gameplay, and the novelty of its school-based setting. However, despite its strong start, Yogurting struggled to maintain a significant player base over time.
Closure[edit | edit source]
In 2010, NTIX Soft announced the closure of Yogurting, citing declining user numbers and financial difficulties as the primary reasons. The game's servers were officially shut down, and all related services were terminated. The closure of Yogurting marked the end of a game that had once been a promising venture into the MMORPG genre for a younger audience.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Although Yogurting is no longer operational, it remains a point of interest for fans of early 2000s MMORPGs and those with a fondness for anime-style games. Its unique setting and aesthetic have left a lasting impression on its former players, many of whom remember the game fondly.
