3-Methoxy-4-methylamphetamine (3-MMA) is a psychoactive drug from the amphetamine family. It is chemically related to 4-Methylmethcathinone (4-MMC or mephedrone).

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

3-MMA is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C11H17NO. It is a derivative of methamphetamine, being the methamphetamine molecule with an additional methoxy group at the 3rd carbon atom.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacology of 3-MMA is not well studied. However, it is known to act as a serotonin-norepinephrine-dopamine releasing agent (SNDRA) with EC50 values of 72 nM, 491 nM, and 777 nM, respectively.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 3-MMA on the human body are not well documented. However, it is known to produce stimulant effects similar to other amphetamines. These may include increased energy, euphoria, increased sociability, and increased sexual desire.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

The legal status of 3-MMA varies by country. In some countries, it is a controlled substance, while in others it is legal to possess and use.
