3 Medical Regiment
3 Medical Regiment is a unit of the British Army that provides medical support to the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF). The regiment is part of the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC), which is responsible for maintaining the health of all Army personnel.

The 3 Medical Regiment was formed in 2011 as part of the restructuring of the British Army's medical services. It was created by merging the 23 Pioneer Regiment and the 1 Close Support Medical Regiment. The regiment is based at Preston Barracks in Brighton, England.
Role[edit | edit source]
The primary role of the 3 Medical Regiment is to provide medical support to the UKSF. This includes providing immediate medical care on the battlefield, as well as longer-term care for injured personnel. The regiment also provides training in battlefield medicine to other units of the British Army.
Structure[edit | edit source]
The 3 Medical Regiment is made up of several different types of units, including:
- Field Ambulances: These units provide immediate medical care on the battlefield. They are equipped with specially modified vehicles that can transport injured personnel to a field hospital.
- Field Hospitals: These units provide longer-term care for injured personnel. They are equipped with all the necessary medical equipment to treat a wide range of injuries and illnesses.
- Training Units: These units are responsible for training other units of the British Army in battlefield medicine.

Several notable personnel have served in the 3 Medical Regiment, including:
- Captain Tom Moore: Captain Moore served in the regiment during World War II. He later became famous for his fundraising efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Major General Paul Nanson: Major General Nanson served in the regiment before becoming the Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
