ACRIA

ACRIA is a non-profit organization that conducts research, provides education, and offers supportive services to people living with HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1991, ACRIA (AIDS Community Research Initiative of America) has been instrumental in the development of numerous medications used to treat HIV/AIDS and has trained thousands of healthcare providers and individuals on HIV prevention and treatment.

ACRIA was established in 1991 in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The organization was founded by a group of physicians, activists, and people living with HIV who were frustrated by the slow pace of government and pharmaceutical company research. They believed that community-based research could speed up the development of new treatments.

ACRIA's research program focuses on the development of new treatments for HIV/AIDS. The organization has been involved in the development of many of the medications that are now standard treatments for HIV.
