Adam Lynn Duvall (born September 4, 1988) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, and Miami Marlins.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Duvall was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Butler Traditional High School in Louisville, where he played high school baseball. After high school, he attended the University of Louisville and later transferred to Western Kentucky University.
Professional career[edit | edit source]
San Francisco Giants[edit | edit source]
Duvall was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 11th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut with the Giants on June 26, 2014.
Cincinnati Reds[edit | edit source]
On July 30, 2015, Duvall was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. He had a breakout season in 2016, earning his first All-Star selection.
Atlanta Braves[edit | edit source]
Duvall was traded to the Atlanta Braves on July 30, 2018. He played a key role in the Braves' 2021 season, helping them win the World Series.
Miami Marlins[edit | edit source]
Duvall signed with the Miami Marlins before the 2021 season. He was traded back to the Braves later that year.
Boston Red Sox[edit | edit source]
Duvall signed with the Boston Red Sox before the 2023 season.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Duvall was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2012. He has been an advocate for diabetes awareness and management.
