Adams County is a county in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,976. The county seat and largest city is Council. The county was established in 1911 and named for the second President of the United States, John Adams.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Adams County is located in the west central part of Idaho. It is bordered by Washington County to the west, Gem County to the south, Valley County to the east, and Idaho County to the north. The county's total area is 1,330 square miles, of which 1,326 square miles is land and 4.2 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2010 census, there were 3,976 people, 1,682 households, and 1,176 families residing in the county. The population density was 3 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 96.8% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.7% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.3% of the population.
