Aerospace Medical Association
Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA) is a professional organization in the field of aerospace medicine. It was established in 1929 and is one of the largest professional organizations in this field, with members from over 70 countries.

The Aerospace Medical Association was founded in 1929, originally as the Aero Medical Association of the United States. Its founding was largely due to the efforts of Louis H. Bauer, who was the first medical director of the Aeronautics Branch of the Department of Commerce. The association's name was changed to its current form in 1939.
Mission[edit | edit source]
The mission of the Aerospace Medical Association is to enhance health, safety, and performance of individuals involved in air travel and space travel. This is achieved through the advancement of the science, art, and practice of aerospace medicine and its allied sciences.
Activities[edit | edit source]
The Aerospace Medical Association conducts a variety of activities to fulfill its mission. These include the publication of the journal Aviation, Space, and Environmental Medicine, the organization of scientific meetings, and the provision of continuing education opportunities for its members.

Membership in the Aerospace Medical Association is open to anyone with an interest in aerospace medicine. The association has several categories of membership, including active, associate, and student memberships.
