Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) is a public university located in Zaria, Nigeria. It was founded on October 4, 1962, as the University of Northern Nigeria. The university was named after Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and the first premier of Northern Nigeria. ABU is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Nigeria and has been a significant contributor to the country's academic, political, and cultural development.
