Aidan Quinn
American actor
Aidan Quinn (born March 8, 1959) is an American actor. He made his film debut in Reckless (1984), followed by a breakthrough role in Desperately Seeking Susan (1985). Quinn has appeared in over 80 films, including The Mission (1986), Stakeout (1987), Avalon (1990), Benny & Joon (1993), Legends of the Fall (1994), Michael Collins (1996), Practical Magic (1998), and Unknown (2006).

Quinn was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Irish parents. He was raised in Rockford, Illinois, and later moved to Dublin, Ireland. He attended the DePaul University's The Theatre School.
Career[edit | edit source]
Quinn's early career included roles in theater and television. His performance in An Early Frost (1985) earned him an Emmy Award nomination. He continued to work in both film and television, gaining recognition for his versatility and depth as an actor.
Film[edit | edit source]
Quinn's film career includes a wide range of genres and roles. In The Mission (1986), he starred alongside Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. He played a significant role in Legends of the Fall (1994), a film that also starred Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. His portrayal of Harry Boland in Michael Collins (1996) was critically acclaimed.

In addition to his film work, Quinn has had a successful television career. He starred in the CBS series Elementary as Captain Thomas Gregson. He also appeared in the NBC series The Book of Daniel and the HBO film Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Quinn is married to actress Elizabeth Bracco, and they have two daughters. He is the brother of cinematographer Declan Quinn and actor Paul Quinn.
