Early Life and Amateur Career[edit | edit source]
Alberto Fernández de la Puebla was born in Madrid, Spain. He began his cycling career in the amateur ranks, showing promise as a strong climber and all-rounder. His early successes in local and national races caught the attention of professional teams.
Professional Career[edit | edit source]
Fernández de la Puebla turned professional in 2006 with the Saunier Duval-Prodir team. He quickly made a name for himself as a reliable domestique and occasional contender in mountainous stages.
Saunier Duval-Prodir (2006-2008)[edit | edit source]
During his tenure with Saunier Duval-Prodir, Fernández de la Puebla participated in several major races, including the Vuelta a España and the Giro d'Italia. His role often involved supporting team leaders in the mountains, although he also had opportunities to ride for his own results in smaller races.
Fuji-Servetto (2009-2010)[edit | edit source]
In 2009, Fernández de la Puebla moved to the Fuji-Servetto team. His time with Fuji-Servetto was marked by consistent performances, although he did not achieve any major victories. His career, however, was cut short due to a doping suspension.
