Alice is an American television sitcom that aired from 1976 to 1985. The show revolves around the life of Alice Hyatt, a widowed single mother who works as a waitress at a diner in Phoenix, Arizona. Created by Robert Getchell, the series was based on the 1974 film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore.

The series follows Alice Hyatt, played by Linda Lavin, as she navigates her life as a waitress and single mother. After the death of her husband, Alice decides to leave her small town in New Jersey and move to Phoenix with her son, Tommy. She finds work at Mel's Diner, a local eatery, where she becomes friends with her co-workers, Flo and Vera.
