Andrés Soriano
Andrés Soriano (February 8, 1898 – December 30, 1964) was a prominent Filipino businessman and philanthropist known for his significant contributions to the development of the Philippines' industrial and commercial landscape. He was the founder of San Miguel Corporation, one of the largest and most diversified conglomerates in the Philippines, involved in industries such as brewing, food processing, and packaging.

His father was Enrique Soriano, a businessman from Spain, and his mother was Margarita Soriano, a member of a prominent Filipino family. Soriano's career began in the family business, where he gained experience in various aspects of commerce and industry. In 1920, he took over the management of San Miguel Brewery, transforming it from a single-product company into a diversified conglomerate. Under his leadership, San Miguel Corporation expanded its product line to include soft drinks, ice cream, and processed meats, becoming a major player in the Philippine economy.
In addition to his work with San Miguel, Soriano was involved in other business ventures. He established A. Soriano Corporation (ANSCOR), a holding company with interests in mining, aviation, and other industries. He was also a pioneer in the Philippine airline industry, founding Philippine Airlines in 1941, the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia still operating under its original name.
