Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson (born 11 March 1994) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Premier League club Liverpool and the Scotland national team. Known for his speed, energy, and crossing ability, Robertson has established himself as one of the leading full-backs in the world.

Andrew Henry Robertson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He joined the youth academy of Celtic at a young age but was released at fifteen due to concerns about his small stature. He then joined Queen's Park, a Scottish amateur team, where his professional career began.

Robertson's senior career started at Queen's Park in the Scottish Third Division during the 2012-2013 season. His performances as a young left-back caught the attention of bigger clubs.

Dundee United[edit | edit source]

In 2013, Robertson signed with Dundee United of the Scottish Premier League. His impressive debut season earned him the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award and a spot in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.

In July 2014, Robertson moved to Hull City in the English Premier League. He quickly established himself as a first-team regular, despite the team's struggles, which included relegation to the EFL Championship and an immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

In July 2017, Robertson signed for Liverpool for an initial fee of £8 million. He initially struggled to find his place in the starting lineup but eventually became an integral part of the team. Robertson played a key role in Liverpool's 2018-2019 UEFA Champions League victory, their first Premier League title in the 2019-2020 season, and numerous other trophies. His partnership with right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been particularly noteworthy, with both players contributing significantly to Liverpool's attacking and defensive play.

Robertson made his debut for the Scotland national team in May 2014. He has since earned over 50 caps and was named captain of the national team in September 2018. Under his leadership, Scotland qualified for UEFA Euro 2020, their first major tournament since 1998.
