Liverpool Football Club is a professional football club based in Liverpool, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football. Founded in 1892, Liverpool F.C. has a rich history and is one of the most successful clubs in English football.

Liverpool F.C. was established following a dispute between the Everton committee and John Houlding, the club president and owner of the Anfield stadium. As a result, Everton moved to Goodison Park, and Houlding founded Liverpool F.C. to play at Anfield.

The club won its first League Championship in the 1900-01 season and has since accumulated numerous domestic and international honors. Liverpool's most successful period came in the 1970s and 1980s under the management of Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, and Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool F.C. has won 19 League titles, 7 FA Cups, 8 EFL Cups, and 15 FA Community Shields. Internationally, the club has won 6 UEFA Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 4 UEFA Super Cups, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup.

Liverpool F.C. has played at Anfield since its formation. The stadium has a seating capacity of 53,394 and is known for its passionate atmosphere, particularly in the Kop stand.

Liverpool has intense rivalries with several clubs, most notably Manchester United and Everton. The matches against Manchester United are known as the North West Derby, while the fixtures against Everton are referred to as the Merseyside Derby.
