Angela Kashuba
Angela Kashuba is a renowned pharmacologist and academic, known for her significant contributions to the field of pharmacology. She is currently serving as the Dean of the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Angela Kashuba was born and raised in Canada. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan. She then moved to the United States to pursue her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Kashuba furthered her education by completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Career[edit | edit source]
Kashuba started her career as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina (UNC) in 1997. She has since held various positions at the university, including the John and Deborah McNeill Distinguished Professor, and the Director of the UNC Center for AIDS Research Clinical Pharmacology and Analytical Chemistry Core.
In 2019, Kashuba was appointed as the Dean of the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, becoming the first woman to hold this position. Her research primarily focuses on antiretroviral therapy and the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

Kashuba's research has significantly contributed to the understanding of antiretroviral drugs and their impact on HIV treatment. Her work has helped in the development of effective strategies for HIV prevention and treatment. She has published numerous research articles in reputed scientific journals and has been a part of various national and international scientific committees.

Throughout her career, Kashuba has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to the field of pharmacology. These include the Leon I Goldberg Young Investigator Award from the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and the Paul Ehrlich Magic Bullet Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology.
