Appling County, Georgia is a county located in the southeastern part of the United States, within the state of Georgia. Established on December 15, 1818, it was named in honor of Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Appling, a hero of the War of 1812. The county seat is Baxley, which serves as the administrative and cultural center of the county.
