Arcadia University, Pennsylvania
Arcadia University is a private university located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, United States. It was established in 1853 as Beaver Female Seminary and became a university in 2001. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of study.

Arcadia University was founded in 1853 as Beaver Female Seminary by Methodist minister John S. Wilson. In 1872, it received the collegiate charter and was renamed as Beaver College. The college started admitting male students in 1972. In 2001, it gained university status and was renamed as Arcadia University.
Campus[edit | edit source]
The university's campus is located in Glenside, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. The campus features a blend of historic and modern buildings. The most notable building is the Grey Towers Castle, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Academics[edit | edit source]
Arcadia University offers more than 65 fields of study at the undergraduate level, and more than 25 graduate programs. The university is known for its programs in Physical Therapy, International Studies, and Psychology.
Student Life[edit | edit source]
Arcadia University has a vibrant student life with more than 50 student clubs and organizations. The university's athletic teams, known as the Knights, compete in the NCAA Division III.

Arcadia University has produced many notable alumni in various fields. Some of the notable alumni include Kathleen G. Kane, former Attorney General of Pennsylvania, and James P. Dixon, former president of Antioch University.
