Australian Underwater Federation (AUF) is a national governing body for underwater sports and amateur diving in Australia. It was established in 1953 and is affiliated with the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS), the world diving body.

The AUF was founded in 1953 to promote and regulate underwater sports and amateur diving in Australia. It is one of the oldest underwater sports organizations in the world. The federation has been instrumental in the development and promotion of underwater sports in Australia, including spearfishing, underwater hockey, underwater rugby, and finswimming.

The AUF is divided into state branches, each of which oversees the activities of clubs within their respective states. The federation is governed by a National Board, which is elected by the members of the state branches. The National Board is responsible for the overall direction and management of the federation.

The AUF organizes and regulates a variety of underwater sports and activities, including spearfishing, underwater hockey, underwater rugby, and finswimming. It also promotes the conservation of the marine environment and the safety of divers. The federation conducts national championships in various underwater sports and represents Australia in international competitions.

The AUF is affiliated with the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS), the world diving body. It is also a member of the Australian Olympic Committee and the Australian Sports Commission.
